About Us

Why Plant a church in Spring Hill?

Why Spring Hill and why plant another church? First of all, there are a lot of great churches in Spring Hill that are reaching people for the Lord. Therefore, we celebrate and honor all churches in our community. The bottom line is that we want to play our part in fulfilling the great commission in our community. Our heart is to plant a non denominational church with a life giving atmosphere where people can connect in a relationship with Jesus, be empowered for life by the Spirit of God, and serve others in building community relationships through a local church. After much research, there are a plenty of reasons to plant a new church which are both practical and spiritual, but here are a few that that Teresa and I are passionate about.

Only 18%-23% of the people in America attend a church once a month. Each year fewer people in America attend church on a Sunday which is a disturbing trend. One of the best ways to reach new people according to David Olsson and many others is to plant a life giving church. (See David Olsson’s book The American Church in Crisis).

Spring Hill is the 14th fastest growing city in America. In Spring Hill, over 30% of the population is between the ages of 0-18 years old, which means there are a lot of families and young people. This has always been an area of strength in our ministry. Therefore, we want to do our part to reach these families. John 10:10 says that God has come to give life abundantly and we want to help share the life of God with everyone in Spring Hill.

Planting a life-giving Church creates a practical way to help people. There are a lot of hurting people in this world who are searching for answers to life’s challenges. Many Americans struggle with family issues, financial challenges, and a general lack of purpose in life. Some of these people have tried church and for whatever reason, it has not fulfilled their needs. I believe that when a person has a genuine encounter with God through the power of the Holy Spirit, a real transformation will take place in that person’s life.

We are passionate about making disciples. Teresa and I are very excited to have an opportunity to raise up a new generation of Christians who will radically serve God’s purpose for their lives. Young people need mentors to encourage them in learning how to be true followers of Jesus (Matthew 28:19-20), not only bringing change to their own lives, but also affecting the generations that follow. This creates plenty of opportunities for spiritual growth for all ages. We have always enjoyed pastoral ministry and look forward to developing new relationships and building a strong local church. Our launch date is October 2nd 2016. We would love to hear from you, so please contact us if you have any questions about the upcoming plant of Highpoint Church Spring Hill.
